West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit to a Night Dementia/Care Practitioner for Birchwood Care Home.
Birchwood Care Home has frail elderly residents, some with dementia, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour, for which we aim to offer a friendly, safe and secure environment. We believe our residents have choices about their care, and we promote independence as much as possible. We aim to offer social and emotional support to our residents in order to meet their individual needs.
We are looking for someone who is patient, caring, and reliable, who also share our four core values Respect, Inclusion, Compassion and Empowerment. These values are central to everything we do, and are core to the delivery of our service.
We also offer the opportunity for staff to undertake the Care Certificate and Level 2 or 3 Diploma (previously known as NVQ) in adult care. Specialist qualifications such as the Level 2 Certificate in Dementia plus a range of other training opportunities including the Emergency First Aid Certificate.
You are required to work a designated shift pattern and alternate weekends to cover the care home rota. We would prefer candidates with some knowledge and experience in this work, but we would be willing to train the right applicant. All applicants will complete a full induction and training.
This role has been identified as public facing in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2017; the requirement to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English applies.
