Examination/Administration Officer

Rowan Park Teaching School is an outstanding Special School, which supports the learning and development of children and young people aged 3-19 years.  The school has three sites; Rowan Park School for pupils aged 3-19 years with severe and complex learning difficulties, Rowan High School for pupils aged 11-19 years with a diagnosis of Autism and The Rowan Tree for Reception and Year 1 pupils’ who have a diagnosis of autism and learning difficulties.

As Rowan Schools’ number of pupils continue to grow, the Governors are looking to appoint to a new post of Examination/Administration Officer post to support the pupils at Rowan Schools’ with internal assessments and undertaking external examinations relating to the National Curriculum.

As part of the role, the successful candidate will need to effectively manage the development and co-ordination of efficient procedures relating to all aspects of both internal tests and external examinations related to GCSE, AS, A2 and key skills, adhering to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) rules.  You will also be required to recruit, train and manage a team of invigilators.  Previous experience of managing, recording and administering examinations would be advantageous, but the successful candidate will be provided time to fully train for the role.

The successful candidate will be based at Rowan High School and will also be responsible for undertaking administrative, financial and organisational processes within the school under the guidance of senior staff.

As you will be the “front of house” person, welcoming pupils, staff and visitors to the School, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to deal with all visitors to the school in a professional manner and make them feel welcomed and comfortable.

You will be very organised and self-motivated, with strong time management skills, being able to work productively whilst prioritising tasks effectively.
