Trading Standards Officer

Medway Council’s Trading Standards team is looking for an experienced and qualified Trading Standards Officer, (holding either DCATS, DTS or DCA qualifications).

Our Trading Standards Team carries out the broad spectrum of Trading Standards functions through both enforcement and business advice.

As this role involves the full range of Trading Standards legislation you will need a detailed knowledge of criminal law, market surveillance obligations and the wider regulatory landscape. You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of Trading Standards work to achieve excellent outcomes for the service, residents and businesses of Medway.

You will be a highly motivated individual and possess excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to deal with businesses at all levels to achieve compliance whilst being able to confidently respond to potentially difficult and stressful situations in a professional manner.

This post requires an exceptional team player who also has a proven ability to work autonomously and to prioritise workloads against targets and meet deadlines.
