As an integral part of the I.T. Technical Support Team you will provide first line response to common problems and you will assist with the administration of the I.T. Help Desk. Your tasks will include call logging, allocation of calls to appropriate support team staff, progressing and escalation of tasks and liaison with maintenance companies. You should ideally have had experience of help desk operation procedures.
You should have a keen interest in I.T., as well as a good knowledge of basic PC hardware and software terminology. A genuine interest in I.T. is a must and you may already posses some basic I.T. related qualifications. You should be familiar with Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office/M365 Apps, you will be able to produce documentation for support purposes using a range of Microsoft Office software.
Of equal importance are your customer service skills and your ability to communicate effectively with customers to help identify problems efficiently, provide productive advice, and to respond to requests in a positive and friendly manner.
