Children’s Services at Central Bedfordshire Council was been awarded social work ‘employer of the year’ alongside having been graded a ‘Good’ at our last OFSTED inspection.
This is an exciting opportunity for any social worker to develop their social work career and experience the front end of helping families and safeguarding. The role will provide opportunities to develop court skills alongside working with children for who we are the corporate parent. We aim to work closely with families developing our use of MI and implementing systemic practise. The Court and Permanence Service also provides workers the opportunity to build up a repertoire in carrying out direct work with children and young people. We work with children from 0-16 and we work with the netowrk around children, both professional and personal, to ensure they are safe and can achieve their potential.
The Senior Practitioner has a specific role, which will support and develop practice and career opportunities. You will have relevant experience in understanding the best way of applying different social work theories and come up with ideas and knowledge to deliver imaginative and ambitious interventions that improve outcomes for all involved. You will also have the communication skills to work with other agencies and present high-quality reports. You’ll work alongside the Team Manager and have additional responsibility within the team to support performance to ensure deadlines are being adhered to and undertake monthly case audits at times.
