Parking Services Officer (P01628) FTC

Parking Services Officer
Fixed Term Contract to December 2023

£27,669 - £30,557 inclusive of outer fringe allowance
37 hours a week

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council are looking to appoint a new Parking Services Officer to join our Resources, Environment and Cultural Services team.

It will be up to you to carry out parking consultations within your allocated area of the borough, ensuring that relevant legislation is adhered to throughout. You’ll produce accurate technical drawings and regulation orders to accompany any parking proposals. We’ll look to you to ensure that all parking signs and lines comply with TSRGD 2016 as you identify and rectify any issues you encounter.

You’ll act as the public face of the service as you respond to public enquiries and communicate with local businesses. You’ll also administer the council’s online permit system – creating new permit areas and types and entering customer information.

About You

The nature of this role means that we need someone with a clear understanding of relevant parking policy and controls. We also need someone with a clear customer service focus as you look to ensure that you maintain the highest standards of service for local people and businesses.

Your communication skills will be crucial as you ensure that all communications are accessible and comprehensive, as well as responding to relevant enquiries – including those from angry or upset people. You’ll also have a clear team focus as you support other members of your department and others across the council. Your confidence and ability in your role will allow you to manage several projects at any one time, working off of your own initiative and without instruction.

Closing date: 9 May 2021.

Assessments will be held on 11 May and interviews on 13 May 2021.
