Admin Support Officer – Medway Virtual School

Medway Local Authority has a duty to promote the educational achievement of its looked-after children. Looked-after children have often had difficult pre-care experiences before becoming looked after. The role of Medway’s Virtual Headteacher (VHT) and the wider Virtual School team is to ensure these children have the maximum opportunity to reach their full educational potential and be the educational advocate that parents are for others. Medway Virtual School also provide advice and information to parents of previously looked-after children. A key priority of the team is to ensure that the educational achievement of children looked after by the authority is seen as a priority by everyone who has responsibilities for promoting their welfare so that our children and young people achieve more, achieve well and achieve beyond their wildest dreams.

You will be required to provide a comprehensive administration support service to Medway Virtual School, including arranging meetings, minute taking, maintaining records, and responding efficiently to enquiries and requests for information.

You should have a GCSE in English Language and Maths (minimum grade 4 or equivalent) together with excellent ICT skills.

Previous experience of providing an efficient administrative support service is essential.
