What you’ll be doing
This is an exciting new opportunity for a Communications Officer to join Optivo’s Communications Team. The successful candidate will be working closely with stakeholders and customers to create and distribute engaging content that supports Optivo’s reputation as the best in the housing sector.
You’ll be proactive in promoting Optivo’s work through press releases, case studies and responding quickly to topical discussions and events. Building strong relationships with local, national and trade media will be an important part of your role.
Working with the Communications Team you’ll support the delivery of Optivo’s communication strategy through the development of integrated communications campaigns, printed and online publications, digital channels and social networks.
You’ll deliver excellent and creative communications through research, writing, editing and proof reading.
You’ll also have the opportunity to provide expert advice and guidance to staff at all levels in relation to Optivo’s communication channels, media and PR.
What you’ll need
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in communications, marketing, journalism, PR or digital communications.
You’ll also have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications environment and have the ability to write and edit for a range of audiences and channels. An understanding of the social housing sector would also be desirable.
You’ll have excellent knowledge of media engagement and public relations, along with integrating campaigns through numerous communication channels. You’ll also have experience and confidence in dealing with media enquiries and protecting organisational reputation.
You’ll have a creative flair for delivering new content for social media, web and other digital channels. You’ll understand how to set up tracking and evaluation reports on campaigns and communication activities including KPIs and trend analysis.
You’ll have exceptional written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
