Guildford Borough Council is looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic, positive and forward-thinking Facilities Manager to become part of our recently restructured Technical Services Team.
Our committed, professional team are responsible for maintenance, planned improvement, facilities management and major refurbishment across a varied portfolio of housing and corporate property assets.
This critical role is responsible for the management of Facilities Supervisors and their teams of caretakers, facilities officers and in-house cleaning staff.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, the post is key to delivering high quality facilities management across the Council’s assets including their central Civic Offices, operational Depot, sheltered schemes and community centres. The postholder will be responsible for the commissioning, procurement and management all FM contracts and related work.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of providing an efficient FM service to a mixed portfolio of properties, who has a flexible and collaborative attitude and a strong focus on delivering results to meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational and performance management skills, a good knowledge of contract management and an excellent understanding of health and safety and sustainability issues are essential.
A valid driving licence to allow for travel between sites would be an advantage
