PRINCIPAL LEGAL OFFICER

£43,857 - £45,859 per annum, NS15

37 HOURS PER WEEK, PERMANENT

Do you want to be part of a committed team, helping the Council to serve its local community and improve lives? You will be helping the Council to achieve its key strategic objectives, including improving and protecting the local environment, and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.

We are expanding our team and updating the way we work. We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to act as Principal Legal Officer to the Council in relation to litigation work. You will lead on all areas associated with civil and criminal litigation. The work is varied and rewarding. You will need to be someone who has a flexible, positive, ‘can do’ approach; a lawyer who enjoys finding solutions to problems.

The Council’s modern headquarters are located in the centre of the historic market town of Newark, which has excellent train links for Nottingham and Lincoln, and lies on the East Coast mainline. Efficient home-working arrangements are well established.

As part of the role you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of flexible working, a generous holiday allowance, discounted staff parking and gym membership and a very competitive occupational pension. We’re an ambitious, modern and forward thinking Council and we’re looking for somebody with the same values as ours to join us.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Sue Bearman (sue.bearman@nsdc.info or 01636 655935).

Closing Date – 12:00 noon, 17 May 2021
