Holiday Activity and Food Coordinator x 2

With the announcement of the holiday activities and food programme to be expanded across the whole of England in 2021, Lancaster City Council are looking for two Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Coordinators.

We are recruiting for one full time position and one part-time position. These new and exciting roles are to lead and to be responsible for coordinating delivery of the Holiday Activity and Food Programme across the Lancaster District.

You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Activities and Food Programme (HAF) 2021.  You will work with colleagues and partners to deliver an engaging holiday activity programme during the Summer for children and young people (of school age) eligible for free school meals.  You will be highly motivated and organised and have experience in multi-agency partnership working and managing project delivery.  You will work collaboratively with internal departments as well as the voluntary community sector to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the HAF grants.

You will make sure provision is inclusive and available for children with SEND or additional needs and manage the distribution and monitoring of funding to holiday activity and food providers.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a specialist subject area and /or significant relevant experience and evidence of delivering large scale collaborative projects.

The hours of work for these positions are:

Full-time: 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 and some evening and weekend work may be required.

Part-time: 14.8 hours per week and some evening and weekend work may be required.

These posts are for a fixed term of 6 months. Please indicate on your application form whether you would like to be considered for the full-time or part-time post, or both.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.

For internal applicants, this role can be a secondment opportunity. When this role comes to an end, a successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.

Lancaster City Council has unanimously declared a climate emergency and will therefore work towards reducing carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. As part of this role, you will be expected to participate and work towards reducing carbon emissions.

We are a Forces Friendly employer, and an Armed Forces Covenant committed organisation. We welcome applications from defence reserves and other members of our armed forces community.

Excellent benefits include: A Local Government Pension Scheme (the Council makes a 15.5% contribution). Discounted gym membership and discount on days out, activities and retail.
