Based in Newark with travel to other sites within the District

Newark and Sherwood has a lot to be proud of; a captivating history, beautiful countryside, characterful market towns, world renowned businesses and an enviable location at the crossroads of the country’s transportation network. As a small district council with a large land footprint we are responsible for over 5,500 council houses and associated community venues.  We are passionate about providing high quality, customer focused housing services to local people, putting tenants’ needs at the heart of everything, enabling local tenants, leaseholders and residents to live in a Cleaner, Safer, Greener environment.

Our Careline alarm response service team provides specialist advice and support to vulnerable residents across Newark and the surrounding areas. This includes the monitoring and response service, assessing requirements and installation for new customers.

You will be responsible for effectively managing the Careline team, ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective procedures are in place to provide an efficient and professional tenure neutral social alarm response service which may include responding to out of hours calls to support staff.

You will possess good interpersonal skills, have a proven track record of motivating, coaching and developing staff, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in both individual and group situations. You’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to manage performance and continuous service improvements within a fast paced, responsive environment whilst ensuring all customers receive the highest standard of customer care.

Previous experience of working in a Careline or similar role involving assistive technology along with the ability to handle escalated calls and queries are essential.

As part of the role you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits of flexible working, a generous holiday allowance, gym membership and a very competitive occupational pension. We’re an ambitious, modern and forward thinking Council and we’re looking for somebody with the same values as ours to join us.

You will need a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
