29 hours total - (10.75hrs permanent, 18.25hrs temporary until 31st March 2022, renewed annually, dependant on external funding)

Are you interested in improving the health and wellbeing of North West Leicestershire’s residents? The Health and Wellbeing Team have an exciting vacancy for a full time temporary Health and Wellbeing Development Officer. We are looking for someone who is passionate about North West Leicestershire becoming a healthier and more active district. 

You will engage with our communities to understand their needs, challenges and how we can remove barriers allowing them to become more physically active. You will work as part of an enthusiastic team to deliver on our Sport and Physical Activity Plan, which is commissioned by Public Health, specifically targeting those that are inactive by delivering sustainable physical activity programmes, including Exercise Referral and Cardio Pulmonary programmes. You would be required to effectively manage the operation of delivery staff, coaches, instructors and volunteers in the delivery of these physical activity sessions. 

You will have the ability to build strong relationships with key partners such as; Leicestershire and Rutland Sport, Community Groups, Leicestershire County Council, School Sports Partnership and Everyone Active. 

We are looking for someone who can inspire, enthuse and encourage our residents to move more. We have been forced to work in a very different way recently and require an innovative individual with a confidence and resilience to deliver our services regardless of restrictions.
