Senior Trading Standards Enforcement Officer - EU Exit

The Trading Standards team is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of the Council’s regulatory functions in relation to Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance.

As a member of a busy Trading Standards team, you will be required to take a lead role in supporting local businesses and residents relating to the implications of EU exit on the consumer protection and regulatory landscape applicable to trading standards. You may also be required to provide support in relation to other areas of Consumer Protection work from time to time including support to Licensing Enforcement. The post holder will also have a primary focus on consumer and business trading standards issues that emerge as a result of the consequences of the UK’s exit from the EU.

You must hold a degree or diploma in Trading Standards / Consumer Protection or equivalent and be able to demonstrate competencies to deliver official controls in line with the Food Law Code of Practice.

As a Senior Trading Standards Enforcement Officer post you will be able to demonstrate at least 3 years of relevant professional expertise and excellent subject knowledge and experience.
