Over Hall Community School are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to a team who are committed in ensuring the children have access to a wide range of high quality experiences. The role is supporting the Class Teacher in a Key Stage1/2 class, initially on a temporary basis 32.5 hours per week.

Over Hall is a smaller than average, one form entry single academy supporting the progress and development of children from Reception to Year Six. The team work closely with a wide range of professionals to ensure children have the best opportunities. - Take account of pupils’ needs by providing support to develop the areas of learning identified in national and local policies and particularly the foundations for literacy and numeracy.
- Encourage pupils to think and talk about their learning, develop self-control and independence, concentrate and persevere and listen attentively.
- Use a variety of strategies which involve planned adult intervention, first-hand experience and play and talk as a vehicle for learning.
- Work effectively with parents and other adults in the classroom.
- Assess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improve specific aspects of teaching.
- Mark and monitor pupils’ work in line with our school policy and expectations and set targets for progress.
- Support the teacher in assessing, recording and tracking pupils’ progress systematically and keep records to check work is understood and completed, monitor strengths and weaknesses, inform planning and recognise the level at which the pupil is achieving.
