Lancaster City Council are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as part of the Visitor Information Centre Team based at Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor Information Centres. You will provide a comprehensive information service to visitors to make the most of their visit to the District, and helping residents make the most of where they live.
An in-depth knowledge of the area is essential as well as an interest in the requirements of visitors and residents. You should be a team player, have excellent communication skills, and be computer literate. The post holder will also have a supervisory role overseeing the Casual Visitor Information Centre Assistants.
This post is temporary for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. For internal applicants, this role can be a secondment opportunity. When these roles come to an end, any successful internal applicants will return to their substantive roles. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to.
The hours of work for this position are 19 hours per week, working on a shift rota basis that will include every Saturday. You will be required to work bank holidays in line with business needs.
The post holder will be required to work at both Lancaster and Morecambe Visitor information Centres. You may also be required to attend other locations to support tourism promotions.
