An exciting opportunity has arisen in Halton’s SEN Service for a Teaching Assistant to support children with visual, hearing and multisensory impairment across Halton. This is a varied and interesting role which will enable the successful candidate to work in children’s homes, in early years settings and primary schools with a caseload of children. The sensory team is well-established and respected by parents and carers and schools and settings across Halton.
We are looking for someone who has empathy and understanding of some of the difficulties associated with vision and hearing impairment and who has experience of supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
As successful candidate you will have good knowledge and understanding of language development and be able to support with the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate interventions. You will have experience and understanding of delivering speech and language programmes. You will also be experienced in using BSL and sign supported language is essential for this post.

The role will involve regular travel across the borough and sometimes further afield. Therefore, the post holder must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. Where necessary, reasonable adjustments will be made in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
