An exciting opportunity has arisen within Lewes and Eastbourne Council’s Regulatory team.

You will be joining a busy, friendly, and professional team with prospects to gain experience in a wide range of subject areas.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Environmental Protection Specialist to join our Environmental Health team.

Successful candidates will be responsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation and providing advice in line with Council policy and government requirements.

Duties will cover the full range of environmental protection subject areas but will primarily involve environmental permitting, statutory nuisance investigations and responding to planning applications.

It is essential you can analyse and interpret complex information, make objective assessments, and regulate in a proportionate way. It is also essential you can communicate clearly and effectively, be well-organised and committed to high standards of customer care.

If you have the appropriate skills and experience, we can offer a challenging opportunity for you within a friendly team.

Applicants will have a degree/diploma in a relevant science subject.

Additional, technical qualifications are an advantage especially within the field of acoustics and noise control.

Driving license and own vehicle essential.

The authority has moved to home working and therefore the role will involve home working combined with site visits.
