Are you good with people and understand the issues faced by older people and their carers?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Sure Start to Later Life team on a fixed term contract until 30/06/2022.
The main purpose of your role would be to help tackle social isolation and loneliness for people age 55 and above.
You will act at a first point of contact directing people to the most appropriate form of support whether that be a group in the community, support with finances, support to access shopping, help accessing health and social care services as well as a whole host of other things.
A good working knowledge of the local area and an ability to work under your own initiative as well as working directly with the rest of the team is essential.
You should have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to create good working relationships with key local people (including frontline staff) and community groups.
Experience of carrying out assessment of a person’s needs, in relation to their referral to the team, is essential, as well as an understanding and experience of using an asset based approach.
The role will consist of you working across the borough, therefore, you must have a full driving licence and you will receive a car user allowance.
