KS1 Teacher maternity leave cover fixed term

The Governing Body of Somerville Federation would like to appoint a part time 0.5FTE class teacher to teach a class of KS1 children in conjunction with the current class teacher. You will be responsible for planning, assessment and preparation of all work to be delivered on your teaching days. You will have excellent communication skills to ensure that the class is taught seamlessly with the current class teacher.

 

The post will commence on 1st September 2021 until 20th July 2022 and will terminate on this date or when the substantive post holders return from their maternity leaves whichever occurs earliest.

 

This post has become vacant due to two part time teachers in the same class having concurrent maternity leaves. Therefore the post is covering two maternity leaves one which will end in October and one which is planned to start at the end of October. You will be expected to work Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday in the first instance followed by Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon in the second instance.

 

Please note: This post is a fixed term contract covering two consecutive maternity leaves and will terminate upon the return of the second post holder to the school or 20th July 2022 whichever occurs first.

 

We are looking to appoint an excellent and highly motivated teacher, creative in their approach to teaching, with a passion for raising the achievement and attainment of all children. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to all areas of school life, working effectively within a very supportive team to sustain and extend our excellent provision.
