Shared Lives Officer

West Berkshire Council is looking to recruit a Shared Lives Officer within their Shared Lives Team. Shared Lives provides care and support to older people, people with mental health problems and adults with a physical or learning disability. The scheme aims to include those who access the service as members of the shared lives carer's families either on a full time placement or overnight respite basis within the family home or by short breaks or day support. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to assist the scheme’s development by recruiting, assessing, training and providing on-going support to carers with whom you will match adults awaiting placement whilst ensuring essential  CQC standards are met and working with a variety of different professionals. 

The successful individual will demonstrate the four values that are integral to our work in Shared Lives and across Provider Services:

Experience of working with vulnerable people is required as is an appropriate qualification. 

Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. A full driving licence, daily access to a vehicle and the ability to travel throughout West Berkshire and surrounding areas is  essential. 

Internal secondments are welcomed.
