The starting salary for this role is £45,734 per annum based on a 36 working hour week.
We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a Registered Manager to join our Woodlands team.
Woodlands is an Ofsted registered Children’s Home for 4 children and young people provided by Social Care. Woodlands works with Children and Young People aged between 12-18 years with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, living in Surrey. We are currently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and are looking for someone who has experience of leading and managing a team and knowledge and experience of working with children and young people that have a looked after status. As a Registered Manager in Woodlands you will be based at the house in Knaphill, Woking. You will have daily contact with our children and young people, building your own relationship with them to provide you with a greater understanding of their needs and challenges.
This role requires strong leadership capabilities, personal resilience, passion, nurture, empathy, confidence, a good sense of humour and a positive attitude, and commitment to ensure provision of good quality care for the children and young people we support.
As our Registered Manager you will work closely with partner agencies and directly manage the Assistant Team Manager and other members of staff. You will require experience of supervising staff and working towards any service improvement, with an excellent knowledge of safeguarding and improving quality and outcomes. Strong leadership skills will be required, allowing you to build confidence and raise morale amongst your team. You will have the ability to develop practice in regard to Safeguarding, Quality Assurance, whilst providing professional development and support to your Assistant Team Manager/s and Residential Workers. You will look to build and deliver a positive culture of service development and improvement, challenging the status quo and providing solution focused outcomes and innovations. As children’s homes operate 24/7, 7 days per week you will have to be adaptable and flexible at times and also be part of an on call rota with the Management Team.
This role is a great opportunity to develop your management skills whilst also having direct contact with children and young people. Woodlands looks to develop and train staff with opportunities to complete training in specialist areas particularly looking towards a Positive Behaviour Support Model and Restorative Approaches and a knowledge of Trauma and Attachment and how that manifests in our children’s behaviours and experiences.

- Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with other agencies
- The ability to work autonomously with initiative, to engage, develop and consult with a range of partners
- Good/Extensive knowledge of Children’s homes regulations including quality standards and confident working with inspectors and facilitating Ofsted inspections
- Experience of managing a team or working as a Registered Manager who works with vulnerable children and young people with complex behaviours and needs
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for residential childcare or will be happy to achieve this within the specified timeframes
