The Governors at Acresfield Academy are looking to appoint an outstanding inclusion manager, due to the retirement of our current post holder. We would like the successful applicant to be able to start as soon as possible in the new academic year, but appreciate this will depend on their availability and may not be until January 2022. We are looking for someone with excellent classroom practice and excellent leadership skills, as the role will involve being the class teacher for our resource provision [we have funding for seven children with moderate learning difficulties and complex needs] and fulfilling the role of the school SENDCo. The right candidate, with relevant experience, will also form a part of the school leadership team. The successful applicant will receive a TLR payment.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for inclusion and is able to continue to ensure it remains at the heart of our school. You will need to be able to demonstrate you are an advocate for our most vulnerable children, to ensure their needs are met and they continue to make outstanding progress, both academically and socially, within the resource provision and across the school.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and an understanding of the importance of teamwork in order to improve the outcomes for our pupils. This will include working closely with staff, parents, outside agencies and governors.
You will also need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to prioritise, organise and take the initiative to impact positively on the practice of others.
We can offer you a dynamic and supportive school community, an engaging environment in which to work and a forward thinking team, who work well together to meet the needs of the children. You will receive excellent support from our established team both within the school and from within North West Academies Trust, who we joined in October 2019.
It is an exciting opportunity for someone who can show that drive and enthusiasm to improve the lives of our most vulnerable children.
Safeguarding has the highest priority at school and will be at the heart of our recruitment procedures. The successful candidate will be subject to a stringent vetting and induction process, which will include an enhanced DBS check.
We would encourage you to visit the school, ideally during school hours, so you can see our resource provision and gain a greater understanding of what the role entails. Please contact the school on 01244257350 or via email on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a convenient time.
Please ensure you complete the application form online with reference to the person specification.
