The service provides adoption support to families and adults to enable them to live well and have positive, healthy relationships. Being a Social Worker Assistant in the Adoption Support service is an important and rewarding role. Successful candidates will be part of a team of social workers who provide direct services to adopted children, young people and parents, birth parents and adopted adults. The role supports our vision of providing the best possible outcomes for our children. You will work in partnership with schools, health colleagues and other local partners to provide the best possible services wtithin a highly legislative and confidential service. We are looking for a social worker assistant with excellent communication skills, who is experienced and enthusiastic about working with young people and their families.
This role will offer you a varied opportunity to be part of a permanent team working across Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Council providing the statutory Adoption Support requirements. You will have supportive managers and you will work within a dedicated team of colleagues with good adoption knowledge and experience. You will be provided with regular monthly supervision and an annual appraisal to help you grow.
Experience of using a wide range of social work techniques to undertake direct work with children and families will also be of benefit. Your technical talents should come with a calm, organised approach with good communication skills and you will also need sound IT skills, and be capable of professional conduct at all times.
