Following a service redesign, an exciting new role is available for an experienced manager to lead the procurement and contract activities of our Cityclean and City Parks services.

As we begin introducing new and exciting changes in the way services are delivered, this post gives you the opportunity to be at the centre of purchasing services, equipment and technology that will make a huge difference to our residents and customers’ lives.

You’ll ensure our spending supports our ambitions as we make very important plans for the future. This could be your future too.

About the role

You’ll be an experienced, organised and confident Procurement & Contract Monitoring Manager who’ll ensure compliance with procurement and contract management policies, ensuring value for money on goods and contracted services.

You’ll be able to exercise independence and discretion and be comfortable working as part of a team, or on your own, in an evolving and dynamic environment. You must possess good verbal and written communication skills, have excellent ICT skills, and can build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

In particular, we want someone to join our City Environment team who can demonstrate experience in:

  • Leading tendering exercises
  • Managing contracts
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Negotiating with suppliers
  • Analysing usage, spend and performance

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
