Peabody has an exciting opportunity available for a full time Hoarding Coordinator to be a key member of the Home Improvement Agency team offering high quality flexible personalised support for people who exhibit hoarding behaviours who live within the Dartford & Gravesham District areas in Kent. Your role will require you to deliver personalised support to customers in their homes aiming to address and reduce the risks connected to their hoarding. You will work with and support customers to de-clutter their homes enabling them to live in relative safety. Working with customers, you will ensure they are supported to make choices towards a healthier and happier life and that their physical/mental health will be improved.

This innovative service, funded by Dartford and Gravesham local authorities is looking to support people exhibiting hoarding behaviours to address and reduce risks connected to their hoarding.

We are looking for an enthusiastic committed and experienced coordinator who can deliver one to one support to clients in their homes, building trust and helping them to accept help to address their hoarding with a view to clearing essential living spaces. Previous experience of supporting people who hoard would be desirable, however, direct experience of working with people experiencing mental health issues is essential to the role. A commitment to service user involvement and an ability to communicate with a wide range of people is also required.

Key requirements for the role include:

Must be able to drive and have access to a car.
Knowledge, experience and understanding the needs of vulnerable people, either in a volunteering or professional role.
Demonstrable experience in achieving designated outcomes for customers.
Motivated and able to work using own initiative and with minimum direct support.
You will be working as part of the Home Straight team based within various locations across Kent. This job role is being offered initially on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022 in line with funding available.
