This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with young people who have gone missing. Upon the return of the young person to either their home or care placement, you will make contact with them to offer a return home interview. As a team we are seeking to reduce the level of missing episodes and periods for Birmingham’s young people with a view to reducing the risk of exploitation.
You will be working within Empower U, the multi-agency Exploitation Hub where we are developing a contextual safeguarding approach. We are seeking to extend the hours we offer the service to young people. This post is part of this development. We are looking to recruit full time staff who will work flexibly, but be available till 8pm on a Friday and Monday evening, and 11am - 4pm on a Saturday and Sunday.
You will need good people skills and experience of engaging adolescents. You will have a caring nature and be professionally curious about why a young person has gone missing. You will be able to work with other professionals to identify and address the issues that are leading to a young person to go missing.
The advertisement will be closed once we reach the quota of 50 applicants to this post.
