About the Role


We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic corporate policy and business support team.


The successful candidate will take a central role in developing and implementing the council’s corporate-wide policies and strategies, drawing on best practice and ensuring they align with strategic objectives and business needs.


By applying your research, horizon scanning and analytical skills, you will play a key part in keeping senior managers and councillors up to date on wider policy issues and in providing them with relevant insight and data.


You will also provide a policy advice and research service to colleagues across the council’s General Fund and Housing services.

About you


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • a good understanding of social and public policy agendas and local government legislation
  • a track record in developing policies and strategies
  • excellent research skills
  • experience of carrying out meaningful consultation with residents and stakeholders
  • an ability to develop and maintain successful internal and external relationships
  • excellent communication and presentation skills
