We are looking for a Client Liaison Officer to join our busy team in providing security at The Brighton Centre.

A Client Liaison Officer works on a rolling shift pattern, providing security for the Venue at all times and ensuring a welcoming arrival point to clients and staff.

This post is a permanent full-time post with an average of 37 hours per week over 8 weeks. The post is an integral part of the Brighton Centre team.

You will have a set rota that works over 8 weeks rotation. This means you may have to work over Christmas and New Year.

About the role

Combining a seaside location with vibrant city atmosphere, Brighton is one of England’s most accessible and compact cities for national and international events. Nestling between the rolling hills of the South Downs and the sea, the city’s Regency Squares and crescents provide a golden backdrop to the restaurants and bars, pubs and cafes and dozens of clubs and live music venues which make Brighton & Hove the place to be.

The Brighton Centre is an internationally known venue of considerable scale; it hosts conferences, events, exhibitions, meetings, festivals and concerts with a capacity of up to 5,500. The Brighton Centre sells in the region of 250,000 tickets per annum for its live entertainment programme consisting of approximately 90 live performances and holds on average 20 major conventions per year, amounting to a combined total of approximately 255 occupied event days per annum. This contributes to an annual economic impact to the City of Brighton & Hove of circa £1bn per annum, contributing to 18,000 jobs in the local area.

The Client Liaison Officer is responsible for the security of the building including the operation of CCTV and radios. Delivering a high performing, responsive and customer orientated service that deals with enquiries end-to-end and providing a security presence for all areas of the Brighton Centre. Record deliveries and liaise with the recipient. Provide an interface between clients and Centre Management ensuring that effective lines of communication are maintained.  Working on a rolling shift pattern of 7 early days, 7 late days and 7 nights, rotating over eight weeks, 365 days a year. 

The shift pattern is a 3 shift system that rotates over 8 weeks. The shifts are 07.30 - 15.30, 15.30 - 23.30 & 23.30 - 07.30. 

As a Client Liaison Officer, the following duties will be applicable to the role:

  • To liaise with relevant venue teams in order to assist customers; carry out effective referrals to other teams where necessary; or directly make appointments for the customer to see officers where this option is set up.
  • Provide an interface between clients and Centre Management ensuring that effective lines of communication are maintained in order to maximise client satisfaction with the Centre and minimise any problems that they encounter.
  • To co-operate and assist with the Police, Fire Brigade, Security Agencies and other Government bodies.  To respond to alarm or emergency calls such alarm systems.
  • To undertake search duties as and when required including search of premises or persons at the request of management.  Challenge any unauthorised people and if required remove them from the vicinities.
  • To contribute to the efficient day to day running of the customer access point.
  • To supervise part-time casual staff performing a security function and in the absence of management be responsible for the effective day to day running of the building including promoters, conference organisers and contractors working in the building.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
