More Information

Learning & Development Officer

Are you excited by helping other people to learn?  Do you want to be part of a service supporting the Birmingham Children’s Trust workforce to respond to the challenges of working in new and different ways?  Do you want to develop your own skills in learning and development?  We’ve got just the job for you.

Working 36.5 hours per week, you will be passionate about the role of learning and development, in providing the highest quality social care to the children, young people and families of Birmingham. You will contribute to the work of the Birmingham Children’s Trust Academy, by supporting Birmingham Children’s Trust staff to access learning and development opportunities through a variety of means.  This will include being effective and efficient in identifying learning needs and delivering a range of learning activities at all organisational levels, commissioning learning activity and meeting more bespoke development requirements.

Your portfolio of responsibility will include supporting a Leadership and Management offer including qualifications, and you must have experience of one of the following; experience of delivering leadership programmes, coaching, and or assessing skills, (Assessor Award A1 or D32/33).

You will have the ability to communicate and engage effectively at all levels and be confident in building and maintaining positive working relationships. You will have a clear understanding of a customer-oriented culture and be proactive in promoting this.  You will need to have a clear understanding and experience of organising and delivering training/learning activities or supporting project-based work in relation to learning and development activity.  It will be an advantage to have some knowledge and understanding of the current issues in the children’s workforce.  You will need to have good IT and administrative skills, be able to manage your own workload and respond to deadlines and competing agendas.

If this sounds like you, and you can bring energy, enthusiasm and a commitment to improving the lives of Birmingham children, we’d love to hear from you.

Birmingham Children’s Trust Academy is committed to support the development of Birmingham’s Children’s Trust workforce.  We believe learning is the road to improvement.  In every action we take, we need to ask ourselves “what difference will this make for the citizen?”  This is essential to our behaviour as individuals and fundamental to our culture as organisations.
