About you…

  • Qualified social worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration
  • Extensive post qualifying experience working in complex and/or specialist areas
  • Experience as a practice educator/supervisor
  • Able to undertake workforce analysis and work force development programme
  • Knowledge of the Signs of Safety methodology


About the role…

The Principal Social Worker will work under the direction of the Head of Children’s Social Care, the post holder will have overall responsibility for working with colleagues in Children’s Services and with partners to develop and improve the quality of social work practice and service improvements.


The Principal Social Worker is responsible for the following:

  • Provide strong leadership across all operational areas within Children’s Services and at a regional level
  • Lead on the development and implementation of effective recording, assessment and intervention tools and processes
  • Lead on practice improvement across the service and for outcomes for children and young people


The successful applicant for this post will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The costs for the DBS and SWE registration are paid by us.


The Principal Social Worker interviews will be held in August 2021.


You may have experience working in the following roles: Practice Educator; Advanced Practitioner.
