The post provides strategic leadership across a portfolio of key Council functions that operate on a commercial basis, consisting; Halton’s Stadium, School Meals Catering, Community Meals, Leisure Services and the innovative Brindley Theatre.
A range of statutory services, well placed to keep the Borough attractive, clean, safe, and sustainable are also within the scope of this role. These include the Libraries Service, Waste Management & Recycling, Open Spaces services, Community Safety, and Registration Services (Births, Deaths & Marriages).
Partnership working within the Borough is a key element of the role, with Community Centres and Community Development forming part of the portfolio. Working with partners beyond the Borough boundaries and supporting the development of the sub-regional agenda within the Liverpool City Region is a key aspect of the role.
We are seeking a highly-skilled, experienced and versatile strategic thinker, with enthusiasm, commitment and a commercial focus, along with a proven track record in driving improvement and efficiency, delivering income generating services within budget, whilst leading the delivery of high quality outcomes within a challenging financial environment.
The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a successful leadership team, and continue to shape the future direction of the Borough, its partnerships and the Liverpool City Region.
