North Somerset Council wish to employ a Senior Children’s Centre Worker to work across the six Children’s Centres that are based in the North of North Somerset: Pill, Portishead, Clevedon, Yatton, Yeo Valley and Nailsea and Backwell. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support children’s learning in groups offered within the Children’s Centres.


The work is varied and interesting and includes organising and supporting crèches, Stay and Plays, parenting groups, working alongside parents, and taking responsibility for equipment and resources. We are looking for people who can adapt to working in different settings with different groups of people and can work as part of a team. A level 3 childcare qualification and childcare experience is essential. Children’s centres are part of North Somerset Council’s Early Help Offer and are extending the age range of our work from 0-19 years (25 for children and Young people with SEND).


This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
