Catering Lead

The starting salary for this role is £21,943 per annum for a 36 hour working week.

Then look no further! 

We are seeking full-time Caterers to lead our shifts in the kitchen at our busy outdoor centre, High Ashurst, in the beautiful Surrey Hills.

This is a hands on role, delivering freshly prepared and cooked healthy meal options for our visitors.

The role is varied, requiring good organisational skills, sound catering knowledge and experience in a busy kitchen. You will lead the team, preparing, cooking and serving our guests who range from school children through to adult groups. The day is always different so adaptability is key to meet the ranging needs of our groups; providing tasty, quality food, with a smile!

From time to time, we deliver themed events, which will require flexibility. Serving and cooking outdoors are all part of these events which add to the variety of this role; these can be hard work, but are very rewarding!

Other areas of responsibility within the role include areas such as staff training, ordering, menu planning and stock control.

You will also be part of the team who will maintain the housekeeping standards of our residential cabins, involving domestic duties on group turn around days and ensuring that the cabins are clean, inspected to our standards and ready to receive guests.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • The ability to lead and motivate others
  • Holder of, working towards Food Hygiene L3
  • A craft qualification of NVQ Level 2 or above
  • Excellent Planning and time management skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience of catering for a wide range of needs
  • Positive and solution focussed
