Teaching Assistant Specialist Skills (Including Class Cover)

Full Time, Term Time Only: Grade 6 £22 183 - £24 491 (Pro Rata)

The Bridge Short Stay School are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will play a key role in the pastoral and academic support of Secondary aged students who display challenging behaviour. This role will involve supporting individuals and groups both within lessons and delivering withdrawal interventions for targeted students. The role also involves covering lessons in the absence of regular teaching staff.

This post would be particularly suited to an individual with a passion for supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of students and has a desire to contribute to the work of our safeguarding team by contributing to TAF groups for identified students.

The Bridge primarily caters for students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools, we are passionate about providing a second chance for students who have struggled in their education and putting them on a pathway towards future success. The work is challenging and requires someone who can maintain a focus on the best interests of the student while demonstrating flexibility and resilience under pressure. In return the successful candidate would be supported in joining a committed and friendly team with the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. This post would be an ideal opportunity for an individual who is seeking experience ahead of a career in Teaching or Social Work.

This post is based on our Ellesmere Port site, but may also involve travel to our site in Northwich.

A desire and commitment to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and improve outcomes for young people are essential. We are looking for someone who will consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and a belief in the potential for change.
