Working as part of the wider Business Partner team, this post is responsible for employee relations advice to council services as well as schools and academies. Duties include providing advice, tools and support to managers, head teachers and governing bodies on all employee relations matters, covering sickness absence, performance management, capability, disciplinary, grievance and organisational change. Responsibilities also include providing strategic recruitment and resourcing guidance particularly in relation to skills shortage areas.
We are looking for an individual who has proven experience of advising on these issues and who can apply policies in a practical and proactive way to ensure our customers feel supported whilst empowered to undertake actions required.
Previous local government and/or schools experience would be of benefit although not essential. However, you must have demonstrable, proven experience of giving exceptional advice and support resulting in positive outcomes whilst mitigating risk.
You will be proactive and able to challenge, whilst demonstrating a common sense approach. You must be qualified to CIPD Level 5 or equivalent by experience.
