Fixed Term (24 months), full-time (37 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our busy Planning Policy Team for a recent planning graduate to join our section. Tunbridge Wells Borough Council are at an exciting stage of Plan-Making having recently completed our Regulation 19 consultation and are preparing to submit the Local Plan for Examination in autumn/winter. The Proposed Submission Local Plan sets out where development is proposed to be located for the period up until 2038, and is of key importance to residents, businesses, settlements and the rural areas of the borough.   

The successful candidate will play an important role in the Local Plan Examination and the forthcoming Royal Tunbridge Wells Town Centre Area Plan.

We are interested in hearing from positive, energetic and conscientious candidates with a passion for planning policy and are looking to start their planning career. Applicants should be well organised and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. 

You will need to be able to manage your own workload, be able to prepare detailed reports to support planning policy work. You will have excellent interpersonal, written and analytical skills.  The post offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and knowledge as part of a positive and friendly team.
