Salary: £10.01 - £10.83 per hour plus enhancement for working nights plus Market Forces Payment of £1,300 pro rata (non contractual) * subject to criteria
Hours: 21 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

About the job:

  • To support and monitor our service users, in line with their support plans, including people with complex emotional, physical and health needs throughout the night while keeping the environment safe and clean.
  • The support you will give will include intimate personal care, managing incontinence, moving and handling including hoisting, turning and rolling, administering medication as needed and supporting with health needs such as epilepsy.
  • Promote good practice, undertake medication duties, including administration and recording
  • To be responsible for handling of service users finances in line with support plans.
  • Act as Float WNC when required.
  • Participate in improving the quality of service experienced by the people we support.
  • Participate in the Performance Management and Development Scheme (PMDS); attend regular formal supervision and training and staff meetings.

About you:  

  • Experience of supporting people in a care setting and have either gained NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent or be willing to work towards an RQF level 2.
  • The ability to reflect on your own experiences and practice to build professional relationships with service users, family carers, social work teams and other agencies in order to understand the needs and rights of disabled adults.
  • Confident in the use of a computer to organise and record information clearly and accurately.
  • Always aware of risks and how they can be minimised ensuring the health and safety of colleagues and the people you support.
