An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic part time Social Worker to join an innovative and expanding team working with autistic adults in North Somerset.  The primary focus of the post will be around training, supervising and liaising with social care teams supporting autistic adults, to enable practitioners to undertake autism-friendly, valid and meaningful assessments of their clients’ needs, and to help design, broker and monitor appropriate, autism-specific care packages. 


The successful candidate will also become involved in providing a range of direct work with autistic adults, including delivering post-diagnostic support to service users and carers,  signposting and assisting with placement reviews. Finally, the post-holder will take an active role in working with North Somerset Council to help transform frontline services to ensure they are both accessible and autism-friendly.


Experience of working with autistic adults is essential, as is good written and interpersonal communication skills,
