The Governing Body of this special needs secondary school wish to appoint an Aquatics Assistant to deliver swimming tuition to Meadowside School pupils and other groups in our large, recently built hydrotherapy pool. The position is a permanent contract with a November 1st start date preferred.
Meadowside School is a secondary school for approximately 95 pupils with severe and complex needs, ranging from 11-19 years of age. We require an experienced and energetic Aquatics Assistant, preferably with relevant experience of working with pupils with special needs, to join our very friendly team.
Applicants should have ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate Aquatic Teaching, (or equivalent), and the Royal Life Saving Society Pool Lifeguarding Qualification (or equivalent).
The post is for 18.5 hours a week, (8.55am to 3.25pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays), for 39 weeks a year, (term time plus an extra week for in service training), PLUS an additional 6 hours/week, (Thursdays), currently on a temporary basis.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post requires an enhanced DBS check. Full induction will be given with opportunities for further training.
