It’s an exciting time at Central Bedfordshire’s Housing Service. The Housing Service is a self-contained business that manages and maintains some 5,200+ Council-owned homes and properties with a growing Private Sector Property Management Portfolio. The Housing Systems Operations team provide support to the whole of the Housing Service through the provision of high-quality system management and business support. This is an interesting, varied and customer focused role, which allows the post holder to interact with all areas of the Housing Service, their customers and the wider Council. A big part of what the team does is the management and maintenance of the Housing Services’ in-house data base, with over 250 users, the system is fundamental to the smooth running of the service. The team are also responsible for providing an efficient and effective administrative support across the Housing service, assisting in the delivery of core business functions and Local Welfare Provision.
We are looking to recruit 2 Housing Systems Officers, there is an expectation that each Officer will focus on specific tasks. This could be either, the maintenance of our in-house database, providing training on the system and liaising with Housing Management about their use of the system, or, providing administrative support to the Housing Service. Both Officers will be responsible for carrying out generic team tasks. The role is often called upon as a first point of call for technical help and admin support by Housing Officers, therefore the ability to prioritise work load and provide great customer service is essential. Good communication and planning skills are essential to the success of this role along with a logical mind for problem solving.
You should be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of Housing Legislation, and the benefits/welfare system. Ideally you will be educated to Level 4 standard, but equally important are the skills you already have and the experience you can bring to the role, alongside your willingness to learn and adapt to changing demands.
