Community Engagement Officer - fixed term

Fixed Term Contract (31st March 2022)

Hertsmere is located in southern Hertfordshire – we are 13 miles from Central London and within the M25. We adjoin Greater London with excellent road and rail links making London and the Home Counties easily accessible. The Council Offices are situated in Borehamwood within Zone 6 and with a direct rail link into London Kings Cross St. Pancras. The area is an internationally renowned centre for film and television production, home to BBC Elstree and Elstree Studios (a council owned asset).

This is an exciting opportunity within the Council to improve and co-ordinate communication with our hard to reach groups.

This position is based in the Partnerships and Community Engagement Unit. You will contribute towards the Council’s covid response and tackling health inequalities, which affect the health and wellbeing of the communities within Hertsmere and support the delivery of the Community Strategy and the Council’s vision

You will be experienced in the field of communications and community engagement with excellent communication skills to work with council departments, community leaders and partner agencies. You will need to have the skills to build relationships, produce effective communication methods, interpret data and the ability to formulate project plans. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in social/public policy, or similar.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract to 31st March 2022; 36 hours per week.
