SCHOOLS & SEND/EARLY YEARS FINANCE
Applications are invited from suitably qualified staff, to apply for the above post, which lies within the Corporate Schools & SEND/Early Years Finance Team, following the wish of the current postholder to move to flexible retirement from late September 2021, with a view to full retirement in September 2022. The post advertised is full time and the successful candidate would shadow the current postholder to ensure a smooth transition of work over a 12-month period prior to their retirement, as well as providing wider support for the Team.

The post is an essential part of the Schools Finance Team, dealing with a range of the Council’s Maintained Schools, offering bespoke financial services under a Service Level Agreement. The postholder must possess a high degree of accuracy in maintaining financial records and must possess excellent communication skills, with an ability to work to tight deadlines. Ideally, candidates should already possess a good working knowledge and understanding of Schools finance in respect of overall financial accounting and budgeting, rather than just transactional accounting, and have an ability to offer sound advice and support around any technical or other budget queries in your area of control.
