The Academy of Woodlands is a community facility consisting of a Primary School, Children's Centre, Special Needs Hub, Nursery, Sports Centre, Gymnasium and Arts Centre.
We are seeking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join our busy team working 18 hours per week term time only + 5 staff development days per year (total 39 weeks).
Skills, experience and attributes:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are paramount as the successful candidate will be dealing with parents, staff, students and all other stakeholders.
The successful candidate should have experience working within a finance office/department and would ideally hold a qualification in book-keeping/accounting or AAT. Full training and support will be provided for the school’s finance module and other internal systems.
Good ICT skills are essential for this role, including the use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
The candidate must be aware of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.

- Debt chasing
- Sales ledger
- Banking prep
- Journal input
- Income posting
- Funding transfers for childcare
- Credit card posting
The successful candidate will be a flexible, proactive and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in an environment which is not only varied but extremely busy.
