Maternity Cover – Fixed term for 12 months
The successful candidate will be responsible for helping provide a professional and comprehensive financial service to the Council. The postholder will support the other members of the finance team in providing advice and guidance to budget holders throughout the Council in a number of important ways. This will include assisting with financial reporting and analysis used for management information as well as being responsible for reconciliations and transactional posting of journals using the councils accounting system.
The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in all areas of finance including the closure of accounts, budget setting procedures and financial management.
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Experience of office procedures within a public sector organisation including working knowledge of spreadsheets and computerised financial systems would be advantageous.
