Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) is recruiting this post on behalf of Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership Ltd. Local Enterprise Partnerships were established to help lead economic regeneration in English regions. Hertfordshire LEP is one of 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships tasked by the Government to drive forward economic recovery. Thanks to its targeted and achievable Strategic Economic Plan, Herts LEP has, to date, successfully secured over £280m Government and EU funding to deliver thousands of new homes, jobs, support businesses and improve skills provision.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership for a Project Executive to support the Head of Skills, Employment and Apprenticeships with the development of Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal (HOP).
Circa £1million of funding has been secured via European Social Fund (ESF), the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Growing Places Fund to develop the Hertfordshire Opportunities brand over a two-year period. The project is to develop and embed HOP within the region as the premier gateway to explore career opportunities and to deliver a skills advice service to employers across the county supporting them to effectively engage with education, recruit from a diverse range of local residents and to upskill their existing staff.
This new role is responsible for ensuring the project is delivered compliantly in accordance with ESF/DWP/LEP and HCC policies and procedures and also provide administration support for the programme, including events, managing the on-line presence and dealing with employers, residents and training providers.
This opportunity would desirably suit an individual with knowledge of careers, skills and employment solutions across Hertfordshire as well as experience of ESF funded projects and the compliance requirements. The successful applicant will need to be flexible, be a good communicator with excellent attention to detail. They will have a broad range of IT skills and be confident in implementing projects and enthusiasm to work in a proactive and creative team. Digital marketing skills including use of Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn and experience of using CMS systems will be beneficial but not essential as full training given.
