Assistant Youth Development Worker – Be Yourself

We are currently recruiting for a full time Assistant Youth Development worker - Be Yourself, to work with young people aged 16-24 years who are currently not in work, education or training (NEET).

The main purpose of this role is to support delivery of the ‘Be Yourself-New Futures programme, offering information advice and guidance, using a bespoke support process for young people aged 16-24 years who are NEET.  Managing a caseload of service users and supporting their transition, identifying gaps in provision and advocating and negotiating on their behalf.

Reduce the number of Young People that are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) and hold a caseload using a case management system ensuring monitoring, tracking and engagement can be recorded.

To offer flexible, face to face provision to give young people the confidence and tools required to apply for Education, Training, Kickstart placements, Apprenticeships or paid/voluntary employment

Essential qualifications/experience-

  • Level 3 qualification in Careers Guidance and/or knowledge and experience in this area.

  • Experience of working with young people with CEIAG support needs, including those with complex support needs

  • Significant experience building relationships with young people aged 16-24 years

  • Experience of working with a variety of partners and agencies to support young people

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Good interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to create and sustain partnerships
