The New School Places Programme and the Schools for the Future Programme are major Council plans to ensure there are enough school places in the right place and at the right time delivering the best education. The authority has a statutory requirement to ensure there are enough places for all children that want a school place.


In this key role, you’ll will provide support and guidance to schools seeking to make significant changes and action all of the statutory processes required for these changes. You’ll work closely with schools and their leaders, implementing relevant strategies and best practice to ensure the Council has the best schools in the right places. You will assist the work of the School Organisation and Capital Planning Team by maintaining the relevant databases and provide support across all areas of the Teams workload.   


To join us, you will ideally have an  understanding and experience of the work of the Council’s duty around securing school places and the processes that are required to implement these. Your experience should  include time working across the councils directorates and with key partners including head teachers and governing bodies and stakeholders. You will need to inspire and lead others, promote continuous learning and build strong, productive relationships.
