The Strategic Partnerships Team (SPT) are recruiting two fixed-term Project Managers.

The work of the SPT centres on working with a range of internal and external partners to deliver both Hertfordshire’s Domestic Abuse Strategy and the Hertfordshire Supporting Adults with Complex Needs Strategy. This multi-agency approach to tackling domestic abuse and supporting adults with complex needs and homelessness involves:

  • working in partnership with other key agencies
  • undertaking research to understand the experiences and needs of those affected
  • commissioning services
  • securing central government funding to increase support for marginalised groups
  • raising awareness across the Council and other partner agencies to ensure the right response for anyone affected.

 Ideally with a background in project management, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate and manage projects with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.

Purpose of the Job

This is an exciting opportunity within the SPT, working with the Development Manager, this role will manage the delivery of specific projects, or support the delivery of elements within a larger programme of work, with a focus on improving processes designed to support victims and survivors of domestic abuse,developing processes to ensure learning from domestic homicides (and safeguarding cases) is embedded. This includes ensuring there are strong business cases, robust governance and controls in place, the identification and realisation of benefits.

Main Areas of Responsibility.

  • Leading projects of limited complexity as directed from beginning to end, across a range of environments, through effective decision making and delivering at pace.
  • Providing general support to the Development Manager and project sponsors as required.
  • Working with the team and wider Domestic Abuse Partnership (including a victim and survivor co-production panel) in responding to commission requests (e.g., for reports, research, and benchmarking), ensuring that any intervention commissioned has clearly defined outcomes and measures of success.
  • Ensuring actions emanating from meetings are enacted, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure progress is made.
  • Developing an ability to interpret data and present findings, identifying issues and actions to resolve challenges.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor project management tools and techniques, such as business cases, risk and issues logs, communication plans, and benefit realisation plans.
  • To lead on project management updates and communications.
