Neighbourhood Warden Pulborough

Horsham District Council are looking for a Neighbourhood Warden for the parish of Pulborough.

As Neighbourhood Warden you will be working alongside the community. The role of the warden team is to tackle the fear of crime, encourage a shared sense of ownership and responsibility, and to look out for elderly and vulnerable members of the community whilst providing a uniformed reassuring patrolling presence. You will work closely with the police, the Parish Council and other agencies.

To succeed as Neighbourhood Warden, you will be educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent) with a mature outlook on life, with the necessary confidence, enthusiasm and commitment to undertake this rewarding role. Experience of working with the community is desirable but not essential. You will receive training in subject areas including Warden Core Skills, ASB Powers, Personal Safety, First Aid, Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) and other job-related skills. You should possess a full and clean current driving licence.

Working a shift rota to provide a service at peak times, the job will entail working some evenings and weekends. Adaptable working arrangements may be possible. It should be noted that the post involves foot patrol outside in all weathers.

Staff are eligible to join a contributory pension scheme where the Council contributes 20% of pensionable salary. The Council also provides reimbursement for professional subscriptions and access to a car lease scheme.

If you would like to apply for the role, we highly recommend you show clearly within the ‘Experience Section’ of the application form how you meet the essential criteria detailed within the Role Profile when applying.
